Connie Samla, PE, LC, is the Lighting Specialist at the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD). Connie has twenty years experience in the lighting industry and has received several IES Illumination Awards for her designs. Her professional background includes consulting engineering primarily on commercial buildings.

At SMUD, she educates building designers and commercial and residential customers on all aspects of lighting while providing an expert opinion on customer designs and retrofits. Connie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering, is a registered Electrical Engineer, is Lighting Certified, and is currently on the board of her local IES Section.
